iPadOS 18 to Finally Bring Long-Awaited Calculator App to iPads

Apple is reportedly set to finally introduce a native Calculator app to iPads with the release of iPadOS 18. This long-awaited feature has been the subject of much speculation and anticipation among iPad users, who have had to rely on third-party calculator apps for years.

Sources have indicated that the iPadOS 18 Calculator app will include a comprehensive set of features, including an iOS-inspired redesign, a history tape, and support for Scientific Mode. It is expected to be unveiled at Apple’s upcoming WWDC event on June 10th, alongside new iPad Air and Pro models and potentially a new Apple Pencil.

The compatibility list for iPadOS 18 is not yet available, but it is anticipated that all iPads that are compatible with iPadOS 17 will also be able to run iPadOS 18, with the exception of those that have an A10 or A10X Fusion chip. These iPads were released between 2017 and 2019.

While it is unlikely that the iPad Calculator will match the feature set of popular third-party calculator apps, it will nevertheless be a welcome addition for users who need to perform basic math functions. It will be interesting to see how Apple integrates the Calculator app into iPadOS 18 and whether it will offer any unique features or advantages over third-party alternatives.
