The iPhone 16 rumor mill is gaining momentum as we inch closer to the highly anticipated reveal, which is typically held in September. The latest information circulating confirms one of the significant changes expected for the top-tier iPhone 16 Pro Max: it will reportedly feature the world’s thinnest smartphone bezels. This move makes sense in light of another long-standing iPhone rumor: the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to offer larger displays. While the iPhone 16 Pro is said to see its display grow from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches compared to the iPhone 15 Pro, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is rumored to expand from 6.7 inches on the iPhone 15 Pro Max to an impressive 6.9 inches.
In addition to the slimmer bezels and larger displays, the next iPhone Pro series is anticipated to be powered by the A18 Pro chip and come in four color options: black, white (or silver), gray variations, and a brand-new rose hue that will replace the blue titanium option found on the iPhone 15 Pro.
Camera upgrades are also rumored for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, with a triple-lens setup expected once again. The ultrawide camera is said to feature a substantial upgrade, boasting a 48-megapixel sensor compared to the current 12MP sensor on the iPhone 15 Pro. This enhancement promises more detailed ultrawide shots, particularly in low-light conditions. It is also speculated that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will see improvements across all three lenses, with each lens featuring two glass elements and six plastic elements.
Meanwhile, changes are also rumored for the entry-level iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. Both models are expected to adopt a vertical pill-shaped camera island housing a dual-camera layout. This design change is reminiscent of the iconic iPhone X camera system and marks a departure from previous years. While the base models will have a different camera layout, the specs are not expected to receive any significant upgrades.
Color options for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are rumored to include black, green, pink, blue, and white shades, offering a wider range of choices compared to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, which are available in blue, pink, yellow, green, and black. An earlier rumor suggested that the regular iPhone 16 series could launch in an even more expansive palette of seven colors: pink, blue, yellow, green, black, white, and purple.
As we await the official announcement from Apple, it’s important to keep in mind that these are just rumors and subject to change. However, they provide an intriguing glimpse into the potential features and design changes we can expect from the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup.
