Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi’s itinerary included a visit to Quaid’s mausoleum, where he paid homage to the founder of Pakistan. Earlier in the day, he arrived in Lahore, where Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz extended a warm welcome. Raisi engaged in separate meetings with Chief Minister Maryam and Governor Baligh Ur Rehman, who hosted a luncheon in his honor. The President also visited the historic Government College University (GCU) and addressed students and faculty. Emphasizing the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and Iran, Raisi stressed the importance of nurturing arts, sciences, and technology. He acknowledged the significant influence of Allama Iqbal’s poetry in Iran and affirmed that Pakistan and Iran shared a common stance on the Palestine issue. Raisi expressed Iran’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Pakistan in various sectors, particularly energy. Furthermore, the Iranian President visited the mausoleum of Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal in Lahore, offering his admiration for the literary legacy in the visitors’ book.
