Iranian President Dr. Ebrahim Raisi Wraps Up Three-Day Visit to Pakistan

On Tuesday, during a ceremony in Karachi, President Raisi emphasized the enduring connections between Pakistan and Iran, rooted in history, culture, and religion. He highlighted the importance of Muslim unity and expressed Pakistan’s desire to enhance cooperation with Iran. Governor Tessori, in his role as Chancellor of the University of Karachi, bestowed an honorary doctorate of philosophy upon President Raisi, acknowledging his efforts in strengthening the bond between the two nations. Tessori encouraged Iranian businesses to seize investment opportunities in Pakistan’s favorable business climate and invited them to participate in Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) projects. President Raisi arrived in Islamabad on Monday, marking the first state visit since Pakistan’s general election on February 8. His visit was met with stringent security measures, including aerial surveillance and temporary internet suspension during his movements. To minimize public inconvenience, the provincial governments of Lahore and Karachi declared local holidays.
