Upon his arrival in Lahore, Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi honored the legacy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal by visiting his mausoleum. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz extended a warm welcome to President Raisi at the Allama Iqbal International Airport. Notable figures from the Punjab government, including senior ministers and officials, were present to receive the esteemed guest.
President Raisi’s itinerary includes a visit to GC University Lahore and meetings with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Punjab Governor Baligh Ur Rehman. To facilitate the public’s movement during the President’s visit, the Punjab government declared a public holiday in Lahore.
Following his engagements in Lahore, President Raisi will proceed to Karachi, where he will meet Governor Kamran Tessori and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. He will also pay his respects at Quaid’s mausoleum, honoring the founder of Pakistan. The foreign leader will conclude his visit by returning to Tehran on Wednesday.
