Iranian President Raisi’s Visit Highlights Pakistan-Iran Ties

During his visit to the mausoleum of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi emphasized the deep connection between Iran and Pakistan. He noted the special reverence for Iqbal’s legacy and message against colonialism. Expressing his regret for not being able to address a public gathering, Raisi commended Pakistan’s principled stance on the Gaza conflict, expressing belief in Palestinian triumph.

The president’s visit includes a tour of GC University, meetings with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Punjab Governor Baligh Ur Rehman. He will also pay respects at the Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi.

For the convenience of the public during President Raisi’s visit, the Punjab government declared a public holiday in Lahore today. The Iranian leader is expected to depart for Karachi after his stay in Lahore and return to Tehran on Wednesday.
