Irrfan Khan’s Son, Babil Khan, Remembers His Father with Poignant Reflections

On the fourth anniversary of Irrfan Khan’s passing, his son, Babil Khan, has shared poignant reflections on their relationship, expressing both heartbreak and gratitude. Taking to social media, Babil posted several photos and videos of his father, accompanied by heartfelt captions that reveal the deep bond they shared.

In one particularly moving post, Babil writes, “Nobody knew him like I did, nobody has known me like he did. It’s easy to say, to miss him, it’s easy. It’s easy to be cathartic and cry about losing him. It’s easy. Do you know what is hard? To remember the ecstasy in his voice when he would raise it in exaltation to scream “BABILUUUU!!!” every single time he’d see me.”

Babil also shared a cherished memory from his childhood, recalling how his father’s presence, even in crowded public places, would provide him with a sense of security. “I remember in my early years, I would often lose sight of him in crowded public spaces,” Babil writes. “That one moment when my father would hold my hand meant the world to me. When a bodyguard intervenes and leads my father away due to the rushing crowd, causing our hands to separate, it can be quite upsetting for a child.”

While Irrfan Khan’s busy shooting schedule often kept him away from his family, Babil emphasizes that his father was always loving and affectionate whenever he was present. “He was always there for me, no matter what,” Babil says. “He was my best friend, my mentor, and my biggest supporter.”

Babil also candidly discusses how his father’s death has impacted him, both professionally and personally. “I don’t like to laugh anymore,” Babil admits. “A laughter that I have not experienced ever since he passed away. I used to laugh my heart out, I don’t laugh like that anymore. That’s such a strange thing. When you lose somebody you laugh with, you don’t ever laugh the same.”

Despite the pain of losing his father, Babil finds solace in the memories they shared and the lessons he learned from him. “He taught me so much about life, about love, and about art,” Babil says. “I will never forget him, and I will always be grateful for the time we had together.”

Babil’s poignant reflections offer a glimpse into the special bond between a father and son, and serve as a reminder of the enduring legacy Irrfan Khan left behind. His words not only pay tribute to a great actor but also shed light on the profound impact of losing a loved one and the importance of cherishing the memories we have.
