Das asserts that Lord Jagannath, the deity of the Rathyatra festival, intervened to save the former US president. He points to a specific instance from 1976, when Trump allowed ISKON devotees to construct raths for the festival in his train yard free of charge.
According to Das, Lord Jagannath has reciprocated this favor with his divine intervention, saving Trump from the recent attack. He wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “Today, as the world celebrates the 9-day Jagannath Rathayatra festival, this terrible attack on him and his narrow escape show Jagannath’s intervention.”
This claim connects Trump’s safety to the Rathyatra festival, highlighting a supposed divine connection between the two events. Das underscores the coincidence of Trump’s past generosity towards the festival and his recent escape from an assassination attempt, suggesting that the former is a direct result of the latter. He emphasizes the timing, stating that “Exactly 48 years ago, Donald Trump saved the Jagannath Rathayatra festival. Today, as the world celebrates the Jagannath Rathayatra festival again, Trump was attacked, and Jagannath returned the favor by saving him.”
