Israeli army confirms deaths of two Thai hostages held in Gaza

The Israeli army has confirmed that two Thai hostages, who were previously believed to be alive in Gaza, were killed in an attack on October 7th. The bodies of the hostages are currently being held in the Palestinian territory.

Army spokesman Daniel Hagari announced the news to the families of the victims

, who had been working in agriculture near Kibbutz Beeri. Hagari stated that the hostages were murdered in a terrorist attack and their bodies are being held by Hamas.

According to an AFP tally based on Israeli figures, there are now six Thai hostages being held in Gaza. Thailand has approximately 30,000 citizens residing in Israel, most of whom are employed in the agricultural sector.

The October 7th attack on southern Israel by Hamas resulted in the deaths of over 1,170 people, primarily civilians, according to an AFP tally of official Israeli figures. The Israeli military’s retaliation has killed at least 35,272 people, also predominantly civilians, as reported by the health ministry in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.
