In a virtual session on September 19, 2024, the Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) connected with travel agents, tour operators, media representatives, and the wider travel community in India. The primary goal of this meeting was to share important updates about the current situation in Israel, reassuring travelers about the safety and accessibility of the country.
Leading the session were Hassan Madah, Director of North America – Marketing and Administration, and Amruta Bangera, Director of Marketing for IMOT India. Both emphasized that while certain regions near the northern and southern borders are being closely monitored, the majority of Israel remains open and welcoming to tourists from around the world.
The session addressed practical travel matters like visa procedures, travel insurance options, and guidelines for multiple-entry visas. IMOT also highlighted the diverse experiences that Israel offers, ranging from religious pilgrimage sites and stunning beaches to vibrant nightlife and adventure tourism.
Amruta Bangera emphasized the continued growth in tourism to Israel, stating, “The year of 2024 has witnessed a gradual yet steady rise in tourism to Israel, with 6,800 visitors from traveling from India and 672,400 globally, from January to August. Despite the current situation, we remain optimistic about continuing this growth as tourism across the country remains fully operational, with most areas being safe for travel. We are also working to streamline the visa process to make it easier for travelers to experience the beauty and diversity that Israel has to offer.”
The IMOT is committed to enhancing its partnerships with global travel stakeholders to inspire more visitors to explore the unique experiences Israel offers. With attractions ranging from historical and religious landmarks to contemporary entertainment and outdoor adventures, Israel appeals to travelers with varied interests. As the country remains open and welcoming, IMOT remains committed to ensuring safe, enjoyable, and unforgettable journeys for all who choose to visit.
