IT Professional Dies Due to Hostel Owner’s Negligence in Hyderabad
A tragic incident occurred in Hyderabad when an IT professional, Shaik Akmal Sufuyan, lost his life after falling into an open water sump at a hostel in Gachibowli. The hostel owner’s negligence, as seen on CCTV footage, led to the fatal event.
Sufuyan, who had been staying at the hostel for two months, was returning from an errand when he failed to notice the missing sump lid and fell into it. Police have registered a criminal case against the hostel owner under Section 304 a (negligence causing death) of the IPC.
The incident took place at Shanmukh Men’s PG hostel in Anjaiah Nagar, Gachibowli. Sufuyan was a native of Khammam district and had recently started working with a private firm in the IT corridor. His colleagues and family expressed shock and grief over the tragic loss.
The Raidurgam police are investigating the case and have seized the CCTV footage from the hostel. They are also examining the structural safety and maintenance practices of the building. The local authorities have ordered a thorough investigation to prevent similar incidents in the future.
