ITC Hotels has entered into a management contract with Bhopal’s Lunera Castle Resort & Spa to take over the historic ‘Lunera ki Sarai’ in Mandu, Madhya Pradesh. This iconic site will be rebranded as Welcomhotel Mandu, paying homage to the rich history and architectural marvels of this ancient fort city, renowned for its captivating legends and historical significance.
The newly rebranded Welcomhotel Mandu will feature 94 guest rooms, a multi-cuisine restaurant offering all-day dining, a signature dining experience, expansive meeting spaces, a rejuvenating spa, and a refreshing swimming pool. This strategic move further strengthens ITC Hotels’ presence in Madhya Pradesh, expanding their footprint to approximately 540 keys. This addition complements their existing portfolio of two WelcomHeritage properties in Pench and Pachmarhi, and three upcoming Welcomhotels in Jabalpur, Gwalior, and Bhopal.
Mandu, also known as Mandav, is a captivating destination enclosed by historic stone walls and adorned with distinctive gateways. It attracts tourists, historians, and art enthusiasts, drawn to its rich history and architectural wonders. Lunera ki Sarai, with its roots firmly planted in the 16th and 17th centuries, boasting over 400 years of history, is set to become a key attraction within a short two-hour drive from Indore.
Pankaj Phulwani, Director of Lunera Castle Resort and Spa, expressed his confidence in ITC Hotels’ hospitality expertise, stating, “ITC Hotels is a benchmark of excellence in the hospitality industry. We are confident that their renowned service quality and dedicated staff will significantly enhance the resort’s appeal, promoting Mandu as a leading destination in Madhya Pradesh.”
The transformation of Lunera ki Sarai into Welcomhotel Mandu is poised to further solidify Mandu’s position as a premier destination for those seeking to immerse themselves in India’s vibrant cultural and historical tapestry.
