Ivan Prosvetov Recalled by Avalanche, Arvid Holm Reassigned to Eagles

The Colorado Avalanche have made a roster move ahead of Game 2 against the Winnipeg Jets, recalling goaltender Ivan Prosvetov from the Colorado Eagles of the AHL and reassigned Arvid Holm to the Eagles.

Prosvetov, 25, began the season with the Avalanche after being claimed off waivers from the Arizona Coyotes. He appeared in 11 games for the Avalanche, posting a 3.16 goals-against average and a .895 save percentage.

Prosvetov was sent down to the AHL for regular playing time after the All-Star break. He has since earned wins in his first eight starts, allowing just 10 goals and recording two shutouts.

The recall comes at a time when the Avalanche are dealing with some uncertainty in goal. Alexandar Georgiev struggled in Game 1 against the Jets, and Justus Annunen is dealing with an illness. Prosvetov could get the start in Game 2 on Tuesday evening.

Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar has remained tight-lipped about his starting goaltender, so Prosvetov’s status may not be known until after morning skate or even until puck drop.

Prosvetov struggled in his only career appearance against the Jets on December 16, allowing five goals on 24 shots. We will have to wait and see if he gets the nod in Game 2 and how he performs if he does.
