Jake Gyllenhaal will lead Apple TV+’s upcoming summer legal drama, ‘Presumed Innocent’. Adapted from Scott Turow’s best-selling crime novel, the eight-episode limited series follows Rusty Sabich, a promising Chicago prosecutor who finds himself accused of murdering a colleague.
As Rusty investigates the crime and fights to prove his innocence, he must grapple with the complexities of the legal system and protect his family from harm. Gyllenhaal’s Rusty Sabich is joined by an impressive cast that includes Ruth Negga as his wife, Barbara, and Bill Camp as his boss, Raymond Horgan. Elizabeth Marvel, Renate Reinsve, Peter Sarsgaard, and O-T Fagbenle round out the principal cast.
David E. Kelley, known for his work on ‘The Practice’, ‘Ally McBeal’, and ‘Big Little Lies’, serves as the show’s creator. The series will premiere on Apple TV+ on June 14th, 2024, with a double-header premiere. Subsequent episodes will release weekly.
