Rachit Aggarwal from Jalandhar, Punjab, who never had plans to pursue engineering, is among the 100 NTA scorers in JEE Main, according to the results declared Wednesday late. He attributes his motivation to succeed to his brother, Saksham, and the Japanese animated series ‘Dragon Ball Z’.
Aggarwal, who also loves creative writing, enjoys poetry, and plays guitar, says that motivation can come from little things and encourages students not to fear mathematics and physics.
Aggarwal’s father owns a tiles and sanitary ware business, while his mother gives home tuitions. He says that living in a joint family with grandparents also helped him a lot.
Preparing for JEE Advanced, he now wants to pursue computer science engineering from IIT Bombay.
Aggarwal says that it’s all about self-control when it comes to using social media while preparing for the competitive exams. He deleted his Instagram and Snapchat accounts to focus on studying for 10-12 hours a day.
Aggarwal says he was never a 100 or 99 percent scorer or a topper in class 10. He scored 94 percent in class 10, which he says is ‘very normal’ these days. Along with competitive exams, he believes that focusing on the NCERT syllabus is also important as it is the foundation.
When not studying, Aggarwal loves swimming, listening to music, surfing YouTube, doing yoga, and walking.
