Jamie Oliver’s 5-Ingredient Crispy Garlic Chicken: A 15-Minute Weeknight Dinner

A delicious dinner can make your day, and you don’t need a complicated recipe to achieve it. Jamie Oliver’s crispy garlic chicken is a prime example, requiring only five ingredients and taking less than 15 minutes to cook from scratch. This recipe is perfect for those busy weeknights when you crave a comforting meal without the fuss.

On his website, Jamie shares, “Super-simple to put together, this is a great, fast method for really good, crispy crumbed chicken, and I’ve added garlic for extra flavour. Pounding the chicken, both before adding the crumbs and to help them to stick, tenderises the meat and makes it even quicker to cook.”

Here’s what you’ll need to make this simple yet flavorful dish:

Ingredients:

* Two chicken breasts (120g each)
* Two thick slices of wholemeal bread (75g each)
* One clove of garlic
* One lemon
* 50g of rocket leaves

Kitchen equipment:

* Frying pan
* Greaseproof baking paper
* Food processor

Method:

1. Begin by placing the chicken breasts between two large sheets of baking paper. Then, flatten them using the base of a frying pan or a rolling pin.
2. Tear the bread into chunks and place them in a food processor. Chop the garlic and add it to the processor.
3. Blitz the bread and garlic together until you have fine breadcrumbs. Pour the breadcrumbs over the chicken.
4. Cover the coated chicken with baking paper again and pound it to ensure the crumbs adhere to the meat.
5. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and cook the chicken for three minutes on each side, until crispy, golden brown, and fully cooked through.
6. Squeeze the lemon juice over the rocket leaves.
7. Once the chicken is cooked, slice it and place it on a plate alongside the lemon rocket.

Your tasty chicken dish is now ready to serve. Enjoy!
