Japan Airlines (JAL) and Liverpool Football Club (LFC) have taken their partnership to new heights with the unveiling of the Japan Airlines Lounge at Anfield Stadium. This exciting development, announced just hours before LFC’s first home match on August 25th, marks a significant achievement in their multi-year partnership, which was established in June 2024.
The Japan Airlines Lounge offers a unique blend of Japanese hospitality and the thrill of English football. Available through purchased hospitality packages, it provides a vibrant atmosphere with a three-course menu and exceptional matchday service. The design, inspired by JAL’s renowned service, incorporates elements of Japanese nature and architecture, featuring timber accents, soft lighting, and modern, contemporary furnishings. Located in the former 1892 hospitality space, the lounge will be open during all Liverpool FC home matches.
Junko Sakihara, Deputy Vice President Customer Experience at Japan Airlines, expressed the company’s enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to launch the Japan Airlines Lounge at Anfield, marking an initial key step in our multi-year partnership with Liverpool FC. This lounge uniquely blends Japanese hospitality with football, uniting two cultures that value tradition, excellence, and community. We look forward to building a strong connection between our brands.”
The partnership between Japan Airlines and Liverpool FC goes beyond the lounge. The two organizations share a commitment to supporting people and communities, leading to initiatives like the LFC Foundation’s youth soccer clinic in Philadelphia during LFC’s U.S. preseason tour. Future programs are planned for Thailand and other regions, further solidifying the connection between these two global brands.
The lounge’s grand opening celebration showcased the unique blend of cultures. Guests enjoyed Japanese cocktails like the Yuzu Sour, setting an elegant tone for the evening. A roaming hospitality cart offered caviar and sake, followed by a classic Japanese pairing of whisky and dessert. Personalized gifts, including engraved chopsticks and luggage tags, commemorated the occasion.
Together, Japan Airlines and Liverpool FC aim to inspire and connect fans and travelers worldwide, bridging cultures, communities, and people. This partnership serves as a testament to the power of collaboration, demonstrating how two global brands can come together to create a truly unique and memorable experience.
