In a chilling act of jealousy and violence, Kaydon Prior, 23, and his accomplice, Jason Curtis, have been sentenced to a combined total of 50 years in prison for the brutal murder of Harrison Tomkins, 25. Prior, driven by an unhealthy obsession with his former girlfriend, Alicia Parrin, could not accept the fact that she had moved on with Tomkins.
On the fateful night of August 13, 2023, Prior and Curtis set out to confront Parrin and Tomkins, who were enjoying a night out in Chelsea. Armed with a hunting blade, Prior burst into Parrin’s flat, accompanied by Curtis, who assisted in carrying out the deadly plan.
Tomkins, defenseless as he lay in bed, was mercilessly stabbed multiple times by Prior, who claimed during his trial that a fight had broken out between him and Tomkins. However, this claim was refuted by Parrin, who witnessed the brutal assault firsthand.
Prior had a history of controlling and coercive behavior towards Parrin, repeatedly threatening her if she pursued a relationship with anyone else. Despite Parrin’s attempts to break free from his clutches, Prior remained relentless in his pursuit.
In a statement, Tomkins’ family expressed their devastation and sorrow over the senseless loss of their loved one, who they described as an innocent victim of a premeditated crime.
Detective Police Constable Elliott Lander, the Case Officer, commended the bravery of those who came forward with information during the investigation, leading to the successful sentencing of Prior and Curtis. He emphasized that justice had been served for Tomkins and his grieving family.
