JEE Advanced 2025: Increased Attempts, Eligibility Criteria & JEE Main Schedule

## JEE Advanced 2025: More Attempts, Updated Eligibility, and JEE Main Schedule Announced

Aspiring engineers aiming for the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) have a reason to celebrate! The IIT Kanpur, on November 5th, 2024, announced a crucial update regarding the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025. The number of attempts allowed for JEE Advanced has been increased to three consecutive years, providing candidates with more opportunities to crack this challenging exam.

Previously, students were only permitted two attempts in two consecutive years. This change opens doors for more students to pursue their dream of securing a seat in an IIT.

### JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility Criteria:

Along with the increased attempts, it is crucial to understand the specific eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2025:

*

Age Limit:

Candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 2000.
*

Academic Qualification:

Candidates must have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2023, 2024, or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
*

Important Note:

Candidates who appeared for Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2022 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025, regardless of the subjects attempted.

However, there is a special provision for students who appeared in Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2022. If the examination board declared the results for the academic year 2021-22 on or after September 21, 2022, then these candidates are also eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025, provided they fulfill all other eligibility criteria.

### JEE Main 2025 Schedule Released:

To ensure a smooth transition into JEE Advanced, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the schedule for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025, which acts as the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced. The JEE Main Academic Year 2025-26 will be conducted in two phases:

*

Phase 1:

January 22nd to 31st, 2025.
*

Phase 2:

April 2025 (exact dates to be announced later).

This schedule allows students ample time to prepare and strategize for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams.

With the increased attempts and the clear JEE Main schedule in place, aspiring engineers now have a more defined roadmap to achieve their goals. It is recommended that candidates thoroughly understand the eligibility criteria and stay updated with official announcements from IIT Kanpur and NTA to ensure a successful journey towards their IIT dream.
