Jennifer Garner, who plays the popular Marvel character Elektra in the currently released ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ has always kept her body fit through constant workouts. However, to portray Elektra, she had to strive for an even higher level of fitness, what she calls ‘Marvel Fit.’ She shared her intense workout and diet plan on her Instagram account.
‘I hadn’t touched Elektra’s sai (editor’s note: a weapon) since 2004, and I was pretty toned. But I wasn’t ‘Marvel Fit,” said Jennifer. She trained with her friend and stuntwoman, @shaunaduggins, and also engaged in self-training at home, in addition to boxing three times a week.
Jennifer pushed her body to its limits with intense workouts, including squats and push-ups using dumbbells and resistance bands, akin to an athlete. She also engaged in cardio exercises like boxing, swimming, and running, and even showcased her swordsmanship training with a weapon similar to a sai. In one video, we witness her initial struggle with wielding the weapon, accidentally poking herself, culminating in her mastery of the art. There’s even a humorous scene where she uses a pumpkin as a dumbbell, showcasing her playful personality.
At 52, Jennifer’s ability to move so seamlessly is truly astonishing. Seeing her portray Elektra in ‘Daredevil’ in 2003 and still be able to move with the same agility 20 years later is simply remarkable.
In a separate post, Jennifer, transformed into Elektra, whips up a protein shake with spinach, berries, and almond milk, which she enjoys. Witnessing the dedication behind the glamorous Hollywood facade serves as a great source of workout motivation. Her youthful appearance could very well be a result of her disciplined exercise routine.
Having recently felt my own body’s decline in fitness, Jennifer’s commitment to fitness has inspired me to renew my own workout regimen.
