At a press conference in Mexico City on Wednesday, a journalist attempted to question Jennifer Lopez about the state of her marriage to Ben Affleck during a panel discussion for her new Netflix film, ‘Shotgun Wedding.’ However, Lopez swiftly shut down the line of questioning, asserting that it was not appropriate or relevant to the promotional event.
Simu Liu, Lopez’s co-star in the film, also intervened, urging the journalist to refrain from such inquiries. He emphasized that the actors were there to promote their film and not to discuss their personal lives.
Lopez has previously expressed her aversion to public scrutiny of her personal life, especially in a professional context. She maintains that disclosing personal information should be reserved for specific interviews or contexts where it is relevant to the project or conversation at hand.
In the case of ‘Shotgun Wedding,’ the film is not related to Lopez’s personal life, and therefore, she and her co-stars should be allowed to focus on promoting the project without being subjected to intrusive questions about their private lives.
