As Jeopardy! settles into its 40th season with Ken Jennings as the solo host, the quiz show legend is beginning to establish his own identity behind the lectern. However, one thing Jennings has ruled out is growing a mustache like his predecessor, Alex Trebek. During a conversation on the Inside Jeopardy! podcast, executive producer Michael Davies brought up Trebek’s iconic mustache and asked if Jennings might consider growing one as a tribute. Jennings responded with a hilarious quip: “I don’t think you’re gonna like it, if you ever see it. You will see the ratings drop.” Jennings went on to explain that he doesn’t believe he could pull off the silver fox look that Trebek had. He also noted that he’s never been one for facial hair, and he doesn’t think it would suit him. While Jennings may not be planning to grow a mustache, he has certainly made his mark on Jeopardy! in his own way. He’s brought a new energy and enthusiasm to the show, and he’s quickly become a fan favorite. So, while we may never see Ken Jennings with a mustache, we can all appreciate his unique style and his dedication to the game.
