Jet2.com Achieves ISO 14001 Certification, Reinforcing Sustainability Commitment

Jet2.com, the popular airline and travel company, has taken a significant step towards its sustainability goals by achieving ISO 14001 certification. This globally recognized standard for environmental management underscores Jet2’s commitment to responsible practices.

The certification was awarded following a rigorous assessment of multiple Jet2 locations across the UK, including its commercial and operational offices, maintenance hangars, and training centers. The British Standards Institution (BSI) conducted this thorough evaluation, confirming Jet2’s adherence to the highest environmental management standards.

Achieving ISO 14001 certification marks a significant milestone in Jet2 Plc’s comprehensive 2024-2035 Sustainability Strategy. This strategy outlines a roadmap for continuous improvement in environmental management performance, leveraging the framework provided by the certification.

David Neill, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Director at Jet2.com, expressed his satisfaction with the achievement, stating, “We are extremely pleased to achieve certification to ISO 14001, which is a clear demonstration of our commitment to always improving when it comes to environmental management. As well as recognizing our sustainability strategy and performance, it recognizes the hard work that our passionate colleagues across the business put into environmental management so that we can achieve continuous improvement and realize our stated targets.”

Earlier this year, in May, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays unveiled their revised sustainability strategy, outlining bold and concrete actions to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. This strategy was accompanied by the launch of a new 2024-2035 climate transition plan, aiming to align Jet2.com’s carbon intensity with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) guidelines by 2035. This plan demonstrates Jet2’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact and aligning its operations with global sustainability targets.

The ISO 14001 certification is a testament to Jet2.com’s commitment to environmental responsibility and their dedication to sustainable operations. This achievement reinforces their position as a leader in the aviation industry, taking concrete steps to minimize their environmental footprint and contributing to a more sustainable future for the industry and the planet.
