Jetstar is expanding its presence in Southeast Asia with the launch of a new route between Perth and Bangkok. Starting September 6th, the airline will operate four flights a week between the two capitals, connecting Western Australians to Jetstar Asia’s network of 17 destinations across the region.
This new route marks the largest expansion of Jetstar’s operations in Western Australia to date. It follows the recent launch of new services to Singapore and Phuket in August. In a further boost to connectivity, Jetstar is also doubling its Perth-Singapore flights from three to six weekly, starting September 3rd. These three new services will add over 300,000 seats annually between Western Australia and Southeast Asia.
To enhance travel convenience, all Jetstar flights in Perth will now arrive and depart from Airport Central, with domestic flights relocating to Terminal 2. This change aims to make connecting between domestic and international flights easier, as international flights also operate out of Terminal 2.
Jetstar’s commitment to Western Australia goes beyond new routes. The airline has opened a new plane and pilot base in Perth, housing 60 pilots and four new Airbus A321neo LR aircraft. This is part of Jetstar’s broader plan to add 38 new planes to its fleet by 2029.
To celebrate the launch of these new Asian flights, Jetstar is offering discounted fares starting midday (AWST) today. This expansion underscores Jetstar’s dedication to connecting Western Australia with the world and offering travelers more affordable and convenient options to explore Southeast Asia.
