Jimmie Johnson on His Illustrious Career, Retirement, and Travel Adventures

Driving legend Jimmie Johnson has been inducted into both the Motorsports Hall of Fame and the NASCAR Hall of Fame this year, solidifying his place as one of the most successful drivers in racing history.

Despite achieving 83 race wins and seven NASCAR Cup Series championships, the 48-year-old Johnson is still an active competitor, racing part-time in the States while owning the Legacy Motor Club team.

Johnson emphasizes the importance of staying hydrated, taking vitamins, and getting some form of exercise when traveling to adjust to different time zones and maintain his health.

He enjoys exploring new cultures and has traveled extensively throughout Europe with his family, including visits to Scotland, Ireland, Holland, Spain, and France. His upcoming trip to Japan will be his first time in the country, and he is excited to experience the culture and cuisine.

When Johnson returns to the U.S., he will continue to reside in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he has lived since 1997. He misses the people of Charlotte the most, having built strong relationships there over the years.

Thailand is another destination on Johnson’s travel bucket list, as he had to cancel previous trips due to civil unrest and his wife’s pregnancy. He hopes to experience Thailand in the future, along with other parts of the world.
