Jodhpur Hospital Attendant Caught Performing ECG After Watching YouTube Video: Inquiry Launched

A disturbing incident has come to light at the state-run Satellite Hospital in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, where a lab attendant was caught performing an ECG scan on a patient after watching a YouTube video. The incident, which occurred recently during Diwali leave, has sparked outrage and prompted an investigation by the hospital administration.

In the video, which has gone viral on social media, the attendant can be seen attempting to conduct the ECG scan on a patient while relying on a YouTube tutorial for guidance. The patient’s family members were visibly upset, expressing concerns that the attendant’s lack of proper knowledge could endanger the patient’s life. The attendant, however, claimed that he had no other choice as the lab technician had gone home on leave and there was no other staff available.

The attendant is also heard saying that the machine will do whatever work it needs to do, implying that he was relying solely on the machine’s functionality rather than his own medical expertise. The incident has caused widespread concern about the quality of healthcare provided at the hospital. The Principal of the attached medical college, BS Jodha, has assured that necessary action will be taken against the attendant after a thorough investigation into the matter.
