John Krasinski and Steve Carell, former co-stars on the hit sitcom ‘The Office,’ have reunited for a touching promo for Krasinski’s upcoming film, ‘IF.’ The video, shared on social media by Krasinski, captures the two actors embracing in a recording studio and catching up after years apart. “Reunited and it feeeeels so goooood!” Krasinski wrote in a social media post. “[Carell] happens to be a dear friend,” Krasinski says in the video. “We actually worked together on this little thing a long time ago.” The footage shows Krasinski and Carell reminiscing about their time on ‘The Office,’ which aired from 2005 to 2011. “So good to see you,” Krasinski says. “Oh my Lord,” Carell responds. “I was just telling you guys — has it been years?”
“I’m glad we’re getting it,” Carell jokes, pointing to the camera. “This is so intimate.”
Krasinski then playfully comments on the number of takes it took to get the perfect greeting shot. “I just love that this is the fifth take and you did great on this,” Krasinski said, causing Carell to head back to the door for a retake of their greeting.
“So anyway, I haven’t seen Steve in geez, it’s gotta be —.”
The filmmaker takes a sip of water as Carell comes back into the room and shouts, “Oh my gosh!” That causes Krasinski to do a spit take for the camera. “You look very nice, by the way,” Krasinski comments. “You do too. Anyway…” Carell responds.
“IF” explores a world where children’s imaginary friends (or IFs, for short) are real. Carell plays the main IF named Blue. The film also stars Cailey Fleming, Ryan Reynolds, Louis Gossett Jr., Matt Damon, George Clooney, Maya Rudolph, Bradley Cooper, Amy Schumer, Blake Lively, Awkwafina, Richard Jenkins, Krasinski, and his wife, Emily Blunt. “IF” hits theaters on May 17th.
