Jolly Rovers CC emerged victorious in the TNCA first-division fourth-round match, defeating Young Stars CC by a convincing nine wickets on the third and final day. The match, held at the IIT-M Chemplast Ground in Chennai, witnessed a dominant performance from the Rovers.
Offspinner S Lakshay Jain was the star of the show, taking a phenomenal five wickets in the second innings, ultimately restricting Young Stars to a total of 150 runs. Jain’s bowling brilliance proved instrumental in dismantling the Young Stars batting lineup, paving the way for the Rovers’ triumph.
Earlier, Jolly Rovers had declared their first innings on 415-7, with R Vimal Khumar and Baba Aparajith contributing centuries. Khumar smashed a magnificent 149 runs, while Aparajith followed suit with a classy 119. The Rovers’ strong batting foundation set the stage for their eventual victory.
