Actor Joshua Morrow, known for his role as Nicholas Newman on the popular soap opera ‘The Young and the Restless,’ took to social media to express his grief over the loss of his stepfather, George Kemper, who passed away on April 9, 2024, at the age of 74. Kemper, a well-respected figure in the construction industry, owned Kemper Construction, a multigenerational family-owned business in North Dakota.
Morrow shared an emotional message on Instagram, posting a photo of the order of service for his stepfather’s memorial service. He praised Kemper’s incredible personality and larger-than-life presence, recalling how he had pulled his mother, Bonny, his sister Ashlee, and himself out of a challenging situation and provided them with a life of possibility. Morrow also credited Kemper for giving him two additional sisters, McKenzee and Kassidy.
Morrow’s parents divorced when he was young, and while he remained close to both his father, Larry, and his mother, Bonny, he grew up primarily with his mother and his two sisters. Kemper became a significant figure in his life when his mother remarried.
In his Instagram post, Morrow expressed his deep gratitude for all that Kemper had done for his family. He wrote, ‘Thank you for all you did for us, Big George.’ Fans of Morrow took to the comments section to share their condolences and express their admiration for Kemper.
According to Kemper’s obituary, he was a man with a personality as big as his laugh, and no one got the last word when he was around because he would simply walk away when he was done talking. He was a beloved husband, father, and stepfather, and his legacy will continue through his family and the many lives he touched.
