After the swearing-in ceremony of the union council of ministers on Sunday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief JP Nadda will host a grand dinner for the newly-elected National Democratic Alliance (NDA) MPs. The elaborate menu will include a variety of summer delicacies, such as juices, shakes, stuffed litchi, matka kulfi, and mango cream with raita. Traditional dishes like Jodhpuri sabzi, dal, dum biryani, and five types of bread will also be served. A Punjabi food counter will cater to those with a taste for regional cuisine. Five types of juices, three types of raita, tea, coffee, and bajra khichdi will also be available. For dessert, eight varieties including white rasmalai and four varieties of ghewar will be offered. Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi and the union council of ministers will take oath of office in a ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Sunday evening. Earlier in the day, MPs likely to be included in the new council of ministers attended a meeting at the prime minister’s residence. The NDA unanimously passed a resolution to elect Narendra Modi as their leader on June 5. With Sunday’s swearing-in, Narendra Modi will become the only leader after former PM Jawaharlal Nehru to be elected for a third consecutive term after completing the full tenure of each previous term. In a veiled criticism, Congress parliamentary party chairperson Sonia Gandhi alluded to Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi’s third swearing-in as PM, stating that he had lost the mandate he had sought. She also criticized him for not taking responsibility for his failures.
