Aaron Judge may finally be starting to break out of his season-long slump, providing some much-needed relief for the slumping New York Yankees. In Tuesday night’s 4-3 win over the Oakland Athletics, Judge showed signs of his former MVP form, doubling and squaring up a few other balls. It was the first time he had not struck out since April 13. Judge played a key role in the Yankees’ four-run first inning, doubling down the left-field line and scoring along with Juan Soto on a Giancarlo Stanton double. He lined out to right field in the third and flew out to the fence in right-center field in the fifth, with the ball coming off his bat at 104 mph and traveling 393 feet. Judge’s struggles have been a major concern for the Yankees, who have been shut out twice in the first four games of their homestand. The Yankees are hoping that Judge’s resurgence can help alleviate some of their offensive issues. “He’s had great at-bats throughout the season, getting deep into counts and getting on base,” said Stanton. “It’s only a matter of time before he is squaring balls up like tonight.”
