Julio Cesar Chavez Expresses Concerns about Ryan Garcia’s Tactics

Julio Cesar Chavez, a renowned boxing commentator, has voiced his opinions on the recent fight between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney. Chavez acknowledged Garcia’s impressive victory, securing a majority decision over Haney, who was knocked down three times during the bout. However, Chavez raised concerns about Garcia’s tactics, suggesting that he should have utilized his punching power more effectively.

Chavez expressed his belief that Garcia has the potential to claim the WBC super lightweight title, which became vacant after the fight. Nonetheless, he criticized Garcia’s antics, claiming they detracted from his performance.

Chavez also criticized Devin Haney, who he felt failed to meet expectations. Chavez stated that Haney lacked aggression and relied too heavily on jabs, failing to capitalize on the opportunity to knock out Garcia.

This is not the first time Garcia’s behavior has drawn criticism. At the weigh-in ceremony, Garcia arrived drinking a beer, resulting in a $1.5 million fine for missing weight.
