Nestled in the scenic Middletown Valley of Maryland, Jumbo’s Pumpkin Patch is more than just a popular seasonal attraction – it’s a celebration of a rich agricultural heritage spanning over 150 years. This year, the beloved pumpkin patch is proudly celebrating its 30th anniversary, inviting visitors to experience the heart of the Huffer family’s farming legacy.
For seven generations, the Huffer family has worked the fertile fields of Middletown Valley, preserving its natural beauty and upholding agricultural traditions. In 1994, they transformed a modest 1.5-acre pumpkin patch with a roadside wagon into what is now one of the top 10 pumpkin patches in the United States.
Over the past three decades, Jumbo’s Pumpkin Patch has grown into a beloved destination for families, offering a wide range of fall activities that keep visitors returning year after year. From picking the perfect pumpkin to taking a scenic hayride, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
As Jumbo’s Pumpkin Patch marks its 30th anniversary, the Huffer family invites guests to enjoy a season filled with festive traditions, fun activities, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere that has made this farm a local treasure. The farm is more than a place to celebrate the season – it’s a living testament to over 150 years of history and hard work. From the well-maintained fields to the historic farm buildings, the Huffers’ dedication to their land and legacy shines through.
“For us, farming is not just a livelihood—it’s a way of life, and we are honored to share that with our community,” said Marty Huffer. “Jumbo’s Pumpkin Patch has grown beyond our wildest dreams, and we are excited to celebrate 30 years of welcoming families to our farm.”
Jumbo’s Pumpkin Patch is open for the 2024 season from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, through October 31st. This year promises to be an extra-special celebration, as the Huffers continue sharing the magic of Middletown Valley with new and returning visitors.
