Jurrien Timber Set for Arsenal U21 Comeback against Blackburn
Dutch defender Jurrien Timber is set to make his long-awaited return from injury for Arsenal U21s in their Premier League 2 clash against Blackburn’s reserve side tonight.
It has been 254 days since the Dutch defender suffered damage to the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, putting a sudden halt to his introduction to Mikel Arteta’s team. But that long, steady process of recovery takes a major step forward this evening with Timber’s expected inclusion in the team for this Premier League 2 clash at Ewood Park.
But he is far from the only attraction on display in Mehmet Ali’s team with Reuell Walters, Ethan Nwaneri and Amario Cozier-Duberry all likely to feature. Arsenal have already qualified for the elimination play-offs which will crown this year’s U21s champion, but a home draw in the last-16 is not yet secured and Blackburn are also closing in on a spot after three consecutive wins.
