Juventus continued their impressive start to the Serie A season with a convincing 3-0 victory over Verona on Monday. Dusan Vlahovic was the star of the show, scoring twice to lead the Turin side to their second consecutive clean sheet win.
Vlahovic opened the scoring in the 28th minute, showcasing his clinical finishing by expertly finding space in the Verona defense and firing the ball past the goalkeeper. Nicolo Savona, making his full debut for Juventus, doubled the lead just 11 minutes later with a powerful header. Vlahovic sealed the victory from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute, solidifying Juventus’ position as the only team with a perfect record in the early stages of the season.
Meanwhile, Como earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Cagliari, securing their first Serie A point in over two decades. This was a significant achievement for the newly-promoted side, who lost their opening game 3-0 to Juventus.
Cagliari took the lead in the 44th minute through Roberto Piccolo, who capitalized on a defensive lapse to nod the ball home. However, Como showed resilience and equalized in the 52nd minute. Alberto Dossena’s well-placed corner kick found the head of Patrick Cutrone, who powerfully headed the ball into the back of the net. Both teams had chances to win the match in the latter stages, but ultimately a draw was a fair result.
With these results, Juventus sits at the top of the Serie A table with six points, while Como sits in 16th with one point.
