Finnish sustainable jewelry brand KALEVALA and textile giant MARIMEKKO have come together to create a stunning collection of jewelry inspired by MARIMEKKO’s iconic Unikko print. The collaboration, a celebration of the Unikko print’s 60th anniversary, brings together Finnish craftsmanship and timeless design.
This limited-edition collection, launching on October 1st, features rings, necklaces, brooches, earrings, and ear cuffs – all crafted from recycled silver. Each piece is a testament to the intricate artistry of Finnish craftsmanship, with a unique, modern interpretation of the Unikko pattern.
The collection is available online at the KALEVALA store, at MARIMEKKO’s Isetan Shinjuku store, and at a pop-up shop in Newoman Shinjuku, which will be open from September 30th to October 14th.
Emma Kaisa Kirves, Design Director at MARIMEKKO, expressed her delight with the collaboration, stating that the unique design approach and craftsmanship of KALEVALA have brought out a truly unique and sculptural quality in the Unikko print.
Adding to the excitement, a special offer awaits those who purchase a pendant from the pop-up shop or KALEVALA’s online store: a limited-edition, Unikko-patterned textile string for interchangeable pendants, while supplies last.
This unique collection, combining artistic playfulness with timeless allure, offers a delightful way to embrace the beauty of Unikko in a new light. It’s a perfect opportunity to own a piece of jewelry that radiates a sense of individuality and style, imbued with the rich history and craftsmanship of Finland.
