In a bid to increase awareness and boost voter turnout, the Kandhamal administration displayed nine election-themed tableaux, created by different block authorities and the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), at a roadshow in Baliguda town on Tuesday evening. Each tableau highlighted a specific aspect of the upcoming elections, aiming to educate and motivate voters. Daringbadi block focused on promoting eco-friendly booths, while K Nuagaon emphasized the importance of home voting. Raikia showcased the concept of Sakhi booths, managed entirely by female personnel, and Tumudibandh highlighted the significance of tribal-themed booths. Baliguda’s tableau emphasized the need for free and fair elections, G Udayagiri focused on encouraging new voters, and Kotagarh promoted postal voting. Tikabali highlighted the essential documents required for voting, and ITDA, Baliguda, celebrated the diversity of the electorate. The roadshow also included a fashion show and dance programme for college students to raise voter awareness. Participants of different age groups, clad in traditional attire, carried placards with motivational messages to encourage people to vote. The sub-collector, Rina Pradhan, actively participated in the event, highlighting the role of the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) initiative in attracting voters to the booths and increasing turnout. This initiative aligns with the broader goal of making the voting experience more accessible and inclusive for all.
