Kane Williamson Praises Joe Root’s Form, Focuses on Team Success in Asia

Kane Williamson, a key member of the renowned ‘Fab Four’ alongside Virat Kohli, Joe Root, and Steve Smith, has no interest in comparisons. While he is focused on his own performance and contributing to New Zealand’s success in their upcoming tour of Asia, Williamson has showered praise on England batter Joe Root for his stellar form in red-ball cricket.

Root, at 33 years old, has amassed three centuries and three half-centuries in the past five Tests, including performances against the West Indies and the ongoing series against Sri Lanka. His remarkable achievements have propelled him to seventh place on the all-time Test run-scoring chart with a staggering 12,390 runs.

Williamson, himself a formidable batsman, has openly admitted to being a ‘huge fan’ of Root’s prowess. “He has been simply phenomenal for a while now, and there’s a lot of discussion about what he might achieve in the coming years. It’s incredible that this conversation is even possible,” Williamson said to reporters on Saturday. “He’s been absolutely phenomenal, and I’m a big fan of his. I’ve enjoyed watching him and the other guys you mentioned. They are incredible players who have all helped to move the game forward significantly,” he added.
