Bollywood actress and now-politician Kangana Ranaut has slammed those who are attempting to justify the CISF constable’s slap against her at the Chandigarh airport. Following the incident, which occurred on Thursday, June 6, Ranaut, who was recently elected as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, expressed her shock over the increase in terror and violence in Punjab.
Constable Kulwindar Kaur slapped Ranaut over the actress’s previous comments about farmers. This incident triggered a statement from music composer and singer Vishal Dadlani, who claimed that Kaur would have a job waiting for her if any action were taken against her.
Responding to Dadlani’s statement, Ranaut said, ‘Every rapist, murderer or thief always have a strong emotional, physical, psychological or financial reason to commit a crime. No crime ever happens without a reason, yet they are convicted and sentenced to jail.’ Ranaut further stated that those who support criminals’ actions are essentially condoning rape and murder.
Ranaut went on to suggest that taking up yoga and meditation could help individuals overcome negative emotions that may lead to criminal behavior. ‘Don’t carry so much grudge, hate and jealousy please, free yourself,’ she added.
Kulwinder Kaur, who belongs to a farmer’s family, claimed that her mother was among the protesting farmers. Kaur alleged that Ranaut’s statement that farmers were protesting in Delhi because they were paid ₹ 100 or ₹ 200 provoked her to act. Kaur joined the CISF in 2009, and her husband is also posted at Chandigarh airport.
