Kangana Ranaut, the acclaimed actress and politician, shed light on her absence from Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s lavish wedding celebrations. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, she explained that her brother’s wedding was scheduled for the same day, making it impossible for her to attend the Ambani festivities.
Despite her absence, Kangana took the opportunity to express her admiration for Anant Ambani. She shared, “I got a call from Anant Ambani, and he is such a lovely boy. He told me, ‘Come to my wedding’. I said, ‘I have a wedding at my home’. That day was a very auspicious day and my younger brother was getting married.”
She also added, “Khair, aise bhi main avoid hi karti hoon zyada filmy shaadiyon mein jaana (Anyway, I tend to avoid attending too many filmy weddings). But, I wish them the best.”
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant exchanged vows on July 12th, with a series of wedding-related functions spanning from July 13th to July 15th. The wedding celebrations attracted a constellation of stars from the film industry, sports, and politics, including global celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, and Rihanna. The pre-wedding events and festivities were adorned with exquisite jewelry, with Nita Ambani, the groom’s mother, sporting a magnificent 100-carat yellow diamond necklace for the wedding ceremony.
While the total cost of the wedding was estimated to be around ₹4,000-5,000 crore, reports suggest that the Ambani family allocated a relatively small percentage of their net worth to the wedding, emphasizing their commitment to a balanced approach to spending. The wedding ceremonies were a spectacle of grandeur, incorporating traditional Indian rituals and modern flair. The couple’s pre-wedding celebrations took place in Jamnagar, Gujarat, and on a cruise in Italy, drawing together an eclectic mix of guests, including global leaders and celebrities. These opulent events further amplified the grandeur of their wedding festivities.
