Karachi Implements Stringent Security Measures for Iranian President’s Visit
As Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi prepares to visit Karachi, the Pakistani authorities have enforced stringent security protocols to guarantee his safety. These measures include the suspension of mobile phone services on select routes from 3 pm on April 23rd till 8 am on April 24th. Additionally, major city arteries have been closed to the public, and a public holiday has been declared to avoid inconvenience.
A comprehensive security plan has been put in place, involving the deployment of over 3,800 law enforcement personnel across Karachi. These include 3,847 police officers and officials, as well as 1,500 traffic officers and over 300 officers from the Special Branch. To further enhance security, snipers have been strategically positioned at sensitive locations throughout the city.
The Karachi Police have emphasized their commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards and are taking every possible measure to ensure the visiting delegation’s well-being.
