Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah extended his sympathies to Niranjan Hiremath, a Congress corporator whose daughter Neha was fatally stabbed on the campus of BVB College in Hubballi, and vowed his support during this trying time.
On April 18, Fayaz, a former classmate, ruthlessly attacked Neha, a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) student, multiple times before fleeing the scene. CCTV footage captured the gruesome incident.
Following the tragedy, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil paid a visit to Hiremath’s residence in Hubballi. The Chief Minister also spoke with Hiremath over the phone, expressing his condolences and assuring him that the government was determined to support him.
Siddaramaiah informed Hiremath of the initiation of a CID investigation into the case as well as the establishment of a special court to expedite the legal process and ensure swift justice. Emphasizing the gravity of the crime, the Chief Minister stated that the special court would guarantee appropriate punishment for the perpetrator.
On behalf of his family, Hiremath expressed his gratitude to Siddaramaiah for his prompt response and requested an expeditious resolution to the case. The Chief Minister reassured him of the government’s commitment to ensuring justice without delay.
