Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Summoned for Questioning in MUDA Land Allotment Case

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is scheduled to be questioned by the Lokayukta police on November 6th regarding the controversial Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case. This summons follows allegations of irregularities in the allocation of 14 sites to his wife, Parvathi B M, by the MUDA, stirring significant political controversy in the state.

The Chief Minister expressed his readiness to cooperate, stating, “I will go,” during a conversation with reporters in Haveri district. This confirmation follows the questioning of his wife, who is also implicated in the case, on October 25th.

The Lokayukta police, acting as a corruption watchdog, are investigating claims of illegal site allocations made by the MUDA. Central to this case are accusations of favoritism towards Parvathi B M, which have raised serious concerns of corruption against the Chief Minister.

This development adds another layer of tension to Karnataka’s already politically charged environment, with opposition parties leveraging the case to criticize the Congress-led government.

The Lokayukta investigation is poised to be a significant event as the state approaches upcoming elections, with the case’s outcome potentially influencing Karnataka’s political landscape.
