Kawhi Leonard Doesn’t Use Form as an Excuse After Clippers’ Loss to Mavericks

Despite the return of Kawhi Leonard, the Los Angeles Clippers lost Game 2 of their playoff series to the Dallas Mavericks. Leonard struggled in his first game back from injury, scoring only 17 points on 7-for-17 shooting. However, he refused to use his lack of conditioning as an excuse for his poor performance.

“This is my first game in 20-something days, but I’m not measuring it,” Leonard said. “We gotta be better as a unit overall, and it starts with me. Even if my wind is low, I gotta find a way.”

The Clippers will need Leonard to be at his best in Game 3 if they want to avoid losing the series in five games. The Mavericks have a dynamic duo in Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, who can close out games on their own.

Leonard’s return was a major boost for the Clippers, but he is still working his way back into game shape. He played just 24 minutes in Game 2 and was clearly not at his best. However, he showed flashes of his old self, especially on the defensive end of the floor. He had four steals and one block in the game.

The Clippers will need Leonard to be more efficient on offense in Game 3. He took several tough shots in Game 2 and was not able to consistently make them. He also needs to be more aggressive in attacking the basket. He only had two free throw attempts in the game.

The Clippers are still the favorites to win the series, but they will need Leonard to be at his best if they want to close it out. Game 3 is a must-win for the Clippers, and they will need Leonard to lead the way.
