Kazakhstan Tourism Board Captures Indian Interest with Successful Mumbai Roadshow

The Kazakhstan Tourism Board hosted a successful roadshow in Mumbai on August 22, 2024, attracting significant interest from Indian tour operators. The event, organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and with support from the Embassy of Kazakhstan in India, brought together a delegation of seven representatives from Kazakhstan’s tourism sector.

They showcased the diverse offerings of Kazakhstan, presenting tour packages and highlighting the country’s unique blend of adventure, cultural experiences, and natural beauty. This included a focus on the vibrant cities of Almaty and Astana, as well as the breathtaking national parks and tranquil landscapes that make Kazakhstan a compelling travel destination. The roadshow also featured B2B meetings, facilitating direct interactions between Indian and Kazakh tour operators, fostering new partnerships and collaborations.

Kazakhstan is emerging as a sought-after destination for Indian travelers. This growing popularity is driven by several key factors, including the introduction of a 14-day visa-free entry for Indian citizens in 2022, the availability of regular direct flights between India and Kazakhstan every day, and the increasing allure of Kazakhstan’s unique offerings. The numbers speak for themselves: Indian visitor numbers to Kazakhstan have more than tripled since 2022, with the count of Indian tourists using accommodation facilities jumping from 19,000 in 2022 to an impressive 54,000 in 2023.

The Mumbai roadshow serves as a testament to the strong and growing tourism ties between Kazakhstan and India, signaling a promising future for collaboration and travel between the two countries.
