KCR’s ‘Bus Yatra’ Kicks Off in Telangana, Targeting Lok Sabha Elections
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) has embarked on a 17-day ‘Bus Yatra’ in Telangana to campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The yatra, which began from Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad on Wednesday, will see KCR address roadshows and meetings in 40 towns across the state. It will culminate in a public meeting in Siddipet on May 10, three days before the parliamentary polls.
The bus trip has been planned in such a way that there will be roadshows in almost every parliamentary constituency, and one or two Assembly constituencies. The leaders of various constituencies reportedly demand that KCR’s bus yatra be in their constituencies too. However, in view of the shortness of time and the hot weather conditions, it was decided to undertake the bus trip only in some constituencies, the party leaders claimed.
KCR’s yatra is seen as a major campaign push for the BRS, which is hoping to make significant gains in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The party is currently in power in Telangana and is looking to expand its presence at the national level.
