KEA Extends DCET 2024 Options Entry Deadline

The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has announced an extension for the Diploma Common Entrance Test (DCET) 2024 options entry deadline. Candidates now have until July 15th, 2024, to submit their options for the first round of seat allotment. This decision follows a valid High Court Intermediate Order (Writ Application 18145/2024).

In compliance with the interim order, the results of candidates appearing in the Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF) examinations will be considered for seat allotment. NTTF candidates scheduled to take their exams from July 13th to July 14th, 2024, are directed to attend document verification at KEA, Malleshwaram, Bangalore. Candidates must bring all original documents and two sets of photocopies. Successful candidates in the verification process will be allowed to register their options and will be considered for the first round of seat allotment.

Retired candidates and working professionals applying for DCET-2024 as Career Diploma candidates will not be eligible for admission to the second year or third semester of engineering courses if they fail to submit the prescribed one-year service certificate. These candidates must attend document verification and obtain a verification slip to be considered as Regular Diploma candidates. They will then be given the opportunity to register their options and will be considered for the first round of seat allotment.

Candidates appearing for document verification to be eligible for admission to the second year or third semester of engineering or architect courses under DCET-2024 must submit an application for permission to verify their documents. Verification will take place at KEA, Malleshwaram, Bangalore, on July 13th, 2024, at 2:00 PM or on July 14th, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Candidates must bring all original documents and two sets of photocopies. Those who have already completed the document verification need not appear again.

The extension of the options entry deadline is also attributed to the inclusion of seats released by the Board of Governors to the Government in the Government Seat Matrix. The revised schedule for subsequent seat allotments will be published on the KEA website shortly. Candidates are advised to take note of these updates and complete the necessary procedures within the stipulated deadlines.
