Kejriwal Demands Insulin in Tihar, Alleges Health Concerns Dismissed

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written to the superintendent of Tihar jail, citing his medical condition and need for daily insulin administration. According to sources within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Kejriwal denied the jail administration’s claims that AIIMS doctors had dismissed concerns about his health. He accused the administration of dishonesty, alleging political pressure.

In a letter sent on Monday, Kejriwal asserted that his blood sugar levels had spiked to between 250 and 320 thrice daily, necessitating insulin injections. He disputed the jail administration’s statement that AIIMS doctors had ruled out health concerns during a video conference on April 20.

The AAP insiders alleged a conspiracy to harm Kejriwal, claiming that his requests for insulin had been ignored. The Tihar administration, however, maintained that the video call involved qualified AIIMS specialists who had advised Kejriwal to follow his prescribed medications.

Kejriwal, arrested on March 21 in connection with a money-laundering case, has been lodged in Tihar jail until April 1.
