Kejriwal Granted Interim Bail, Can Campaign for Lok Sabha Elections

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court on Friday, paving the way for his release after nearly two months of detention. The Enforcement Directorate had arrested Kejriwal in connection with a money-laundering case linked to Delhi’s now-repealed excise policy.

The interim bail, granted till June 1, will allow Kejriwal to campaign for the remaining phases of the Lok Sabha elections. However, the Supreme Court has imposed five conditions on his release. Kejriwal has been barred from visiting his office or contacting any witnesses in the case.

The court’s decision has sparked jubilation among AAP supporters, who have hailed it as a victory for truth and democracy. Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita, took to Twitter to express her gratitude, saying that it was the result of the prayers and blessings of millions of people.

The bail order has also triggered a flood of memes on social media platforms, with users expressing their joy and relief. Some users have criticized the decision, but most have welcomed it as a positive development for democracy.

Kejriwal is expected to walk out of jail as early as Friday night. He will have to surrender on June 2, a day after the last phase of the seven-phase poll gets over.
