Kellie Pickler’s return to the live stage was marked by a powerful and emotional performance at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. After months of mourning the loss of her husband, Kyle Jacobs, Pickler took the stage as part of the “Walkin’ After Midnight: The Music of Patsy Cline” tribute show.
With a supportive crowd behind her, Pickler performed the song “The Woman I Am,” which she co-wrote with Jacobs over a decade ago. Despite admitting to feeling nervous, she delivered a heartfelt and powerful rendition, earning a standing ovation.
The performance held a special significance for Pickler, as she had last been at the Ryman Auditorium with Jacobs on a date night. She expressed her belief that he was with her in spirit and thanked the crowd for their support.
Jacobs, a songwriter, died by suicide in February 2023 at the age of 49. Pickler has since released a statement, acknowledging the support she has received during this difficult time and encouraging people to seek help if they are experiencing suicidal thoughts.
